April’s certainly not a bad time to be here in Italy. The weather is usually very good, everything is open, and it’s before the peak of the tourist season. It can be cheaper and easier to get around. There are a lot of local spring festivals including a very nice one in the town where I live. It’s a good time to hike Cinque Terre. The trails can be very hot in July and August.
At the end of April every year, I go to the Netherlands – the tulips are usually at their peak then. There’s a huge flower parade that ends in Haarlem on a Saturday near the end of the month. The next day there’s a street festival where the floats are parked. Queen’s Day is interesting on April 30th and Memorial Day in early May is very moving.
You can pretty much have a good time anywhere here in April. Bring a small folding umbrella in case of rain, but that’s a good idea any time.

I have been to Europe in April staying at youth hostels and had a great time . OK it was sort of cold but not terrible and there were hardly any other tourists about. Not tooo much special that I know of happens in April well there is Easter I guess , but I love Europe and have been a couple of times so I just like to travel about and see stuff.

Still a bit cold in April, but tolerable. You’ll find the weather changing all the time, but you’ll have fun – and that’s the main thing.
